On TV More Than Byrd on CSPAN

There is only one thing on TV more than Senator Byrd is on CSPAN. Sex criminals. I don't know if it is only in San Diego, but that is about the only thing the local news covers. No exaggeration, I would say at least half the teasers for the 11PM news have to do with sex crimes or criminals.

Then the average San Diego newscast goes something like this: 1) sex criminal moves to a new neighborhood 2) neighborhood meeting to prevent sex criminals from moving in 3) half the pension board is going to prison 4) sex criminal failed to re-register after moving and will go to jail for five years 5) a giraffe was born at the zoo 6) what are the chances our next mayor will be a sex criminal. 7) the end.

For example, I watched part of the 11PM local news on Tuesday (it was an accident) and in the first segment there were three stories about sex criminals, or sex criminal registration. Mind you, no crimes had actually taken place, they were just reporting where ones had moved to or various proposed legislation. It's amazing. It must test off the charts with focus groups.
