Nuclear Power Getting More Green Support?
Bainbridge also notes prominent environmentalist Stuart Brand now supports nuclear power. Why would that be? Is it possibly because it has near limitless production capacity, does not pollute, and would reduce our dependence on natural gas, burning coal and foreign oil? (Ben has noted the friction among environmentalists in the context of wind power, as well as benefits of nuclear power here and I have wondered why it does not have more support here.)
Times they are a-changin'. With some greens getting on the nuke bandwagon, maybe the political winds will shift towards nuclear power. Hell, even FRANCE of all places loves nuclear power. (Wait a second, this is weird, but I think I agree with the French on something...)
