People for the (Un)Ethical Treatment of Animals

This is disturbing. According to this Debra Saunders article, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) apparently adopt animals from shelters, and then, failing to find a home for them...kill them. That's right, you read that correctly. Last week two PETA employees were charged with 31 felony counts of animal cruelty each, after authorities found them dumping the bodies of animals they had just picked up from a shelter. The dead bodies were located in a PETA-registered van.

The irony is just too much to bear.
